The destructive force of rust is the single greatest threat to the metals in your vehicle. Rust occurs naturally when the iron in steel oxidizes and returns to its original state, iron oxide which is reddish brown. Consistent exposure to a wide range of elements such as sun, rain, wind and snow lead to rusting of metal, not only reducing the vehicle’s value, but creating hazardous safety conditions as well. Road salts, calcium and sodium chloride (found in winter weather road treatments), as well as other debris also kicks up and clings to vehicle underbodies, eating away at metal and electrical connections.
FiveStar ServiCenter can protect your vehicle’s exposed undercarriage and frame with oil undercoating products annually that will create a self healing, non drying barrier between the metals of your undercarriage and the harsh environment that causes rust.
Our annual undercoating process will protect new vehicles as well as older vehicles. The coatings we use migrate and soak in to small crevices and existing rust, neutralizing it and creating a barrier that will keep out water and oxygen, preventing further oxidation.
Oil undercoating is an annual application and can be applied during any season. However like any type of undercoating it must be applied to a clean and dry undercarriage. FiveStar also provides pressure washing services if necessary.

Oil undercoating rather than rubberized undercoating
Rubberized undercoatings require extensive rust treatment before application. They simply cover existing rust and do not neutralize it, allowing the rusting process to continue under the coating. Rubberized coatings also cure to form a hard surface that is prone to chipping, cracking and peeling that will allow the harsh environmental elements back in and allow the rust process to resume un-noticed until severe damage is done.
Oil undercoatings do not dry or cure, so they are self healing and maintain a constant barrier protecting the metals.
Oil undercoating that’s safe for the environment
FiveStar ServiCenter’s efforts to conserve our environment does not stop at our undercoating service. We have two products available, GS-2000 from Sustainable Refining and Fluid-Film from Eureka Chemical.
GS-2000 is an annual undercoating that has been manufactured from the highest quality vegetable bio-based oils and proprietary additives and contains no solvents. Their products are completely petroleum free resulting in a non-hazardous, biodegradable and renewable coating that are safe for us and the environment. GS-2000 will not dry out and will penetrate to the base of all metals, providing corrosion protection from both natural and industrial atmospheres. Without any petroleum oils GS-2000 is helping to reduce our nation’s dependence on fossil fuels.
Fluid-Film is an annual undercoating that is formulated from specially processed wool-wax, highly refined petroleum oils and selected agents to provide corrosion control, penetration, metal wetting and water displacement. These long lasting products contain no solvents.
