FiveStar NH State Inspections in Manchester, NH
FiveStar ServiCenter is one of Manchester’s premier licenced New Hampshire State Inspection Stations providing state safety and/or emissions testing services for cars, trucks, SUV’s and vans. An inspection sticker will be issued for your automobile once the state inspection has been completed provided the vehicle is currently in compliance with New Hampshire’s safety and emissions requirements. If an issue arises during inspection, FiveStar will discuss your options with you and provide an estimate for the repairs necessary to bring your auto back into compliance.
When is my inspection due?
Privately owned passenger cars and light trucks are registered and inspected annually on the primary owners birth month. We will only need the current non-expired registration (along with your vehicle) to perform the inspection. The State of New Hampshire currently allows state inspection stickers to be issued up to 16 months before expiration. This means FiveStar can perform the inspection and issue an inspection sticker up to 4 months before your birth month!
What if my car or truck failed the safety inspection?
New Hampshire does not provide a “grace period” for repairs to failed components pertaining to the safety portion of the state inspection. New Hampshire’s expectation is that the vehicle will be brought back into compliance immediately, and no inspection sticker is issued until the vehicle is in compliance. Because of this FiveStar ServiCenter recommends safety checks be performed during all maintenance visits, which we provide free of charge – even during a simple oil and filter change – eliminating stressful surprises!
What if my car or truck failed the OBD emissions test?
New Hampshire does provide a “grace period” for repairs to a failed emissions system. If your car, truck, SUV or van fails the OBD portion of the state inspection then New Hampshire allows you 60 days from the date of the inspection to have the repairs performed and the vehicle re-inspected. In the event of an OBD emissions failure and clear sticker with a number representing the month the vehicle was tested is issued and affixed in place of your old inspection sticker. New Hampshire also provides the re-inspection of an OBD failed vehicle once free of charge within the 60 day “grace period”. FiveStar ServiCenter can determine why the vehicle failed and provide estimates for the necessary repairs. In the event the cost of repairs doesn’t fit your current budget, New Hampshire has an economic hardship waiver available for up to one year. FiveStar ServiCenter can help with this process or for more info you may apply over the phone by calling (603) 271-0352.
